The latest edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated features their yearly PWI 500. For the first time in history a Japanese wrestler is in the #1 spot.

Criteria as per PWI
We follow a criteria that includes win-loss record, championships won, quality of competition, major feuds, prominence within a wrestler’s individual promotion(s), and overall wrestling ability. It is not a popularity contest nor purely a gauge of “workrate.” And it is, dare I say it, largely “kayfabe.”

  2. Okada from July of last year to July this year in the world of kayfabe he hardly lost a match, clearly won way more matches than he lost, has held the IWGP title for over 1 year, has have many great quality matches with multiple talents and has been a draw for New Japan, if that dosen't deserve the #1 PWI top 500 then i don't know what does

  3. These motherfuckers but ROMAN REIGNS ahead of KENNY OMEGA. 😐

For every PWI magazine i see at a magazine stand from now on, I shall burn it. 🔥🔥🔥

  4. The reason behind this is Jinder and Lesnar… He wasn't first with Orton as champ… He's amazing but PWI is pro wwe like Metlzer is pro NJPW, so this make more amazing the election. But even so next year he's back at number 3(-) because he's losing the belt to Omega or Naito…
